Five Benefits of Water Exercise
Your workout doesn’t have to be limited to the fitness floor. Add variety to your exercise routine by including water workouts. Water workouts are fun and can give you great results. Here are five benefits of water exercise:
Low impact on your body
Exercising in water reduces the impact of gravity on your body. This makes water exercise a great option for those with joint conditions, such as arthritis, or who need physical rehabilitation.
Increase endurance
Water resistance is a more natural resistance which requires the body to strain through the water rather than against it (Revolution, 2015). Traditional weights require you to push and pull against gravity.
Get a full body workout
Water flows in multiple directions causing a resistance up to 42 times greater than air (Revolution, 2015). This is great for increasing the strength of your muscles, flexibility and agility.
Lowers blood pressure
Water pressure allows your blood flow to circulate more effectively throughout the body, decreasing blood pressure and putting less stress on your heart (Revolution, 2015).
Complete a wide-range of exercises
There are several exercises you can complete in the water to reach your health and fitness goals. Examples are: Zumba®, yoga, walking, jogging, forward and side lunges, leg balance, sidestepping, pool planks, deep water bicycle, arm raises, push-ups, standing knee lifts and more (Mulcahy, 2016). There are group exercise water classes available at the Center with our degreed and certified fitness specialists who can show you safe and effective techniques in the water to optimize your workout.
Consider adding water workouts to your routine. Burn calories, strengthen your body, relieve stress and enhance your overall fitness plan.

Three Benefits of Working with a Personal Trainer
Whether you’re new to working out or have a consistent workout routine, hiring a personal trainer can be a great way to learn techniques, get motivation and save time. Our degreed and certified fitness specialists at the Center are here to help you get an effective workout for optimal results. Here are three benefits of working with a personal trainer:
Learn new workouts and techniques
Personal trainers create a customized workout plan to fit your specific fitness goals. Their expertise will guide you in learning proper form and technique. Trainers can also adjust and add variety to your workout as your grow stronger and more advanced. You can take these skills and use them at home or incorporate them into your routine once your sessions are complete. If you’re new to working out, a personal trainer will be able to develop a customized plan with your goals in mind. From there, you will be able to begin a safe, yet effective workout regimen.
They encourage and motivate you
Regular sessions with your personal trainer can give you the encouragement and motivation you need to reach your goals. You can show your personal trainer the improvements you’ve made and your trainer will be there to assess your progress. Your personal trainer will create an encouraging environment and will help you to push yourself to meet your specific goals.
They save you time at the gym
Sessions with your personal trainer can give you the best workout in a limited amount of time. No matter how busy your schedule may be, a personal trainer will make the most of your workout sessions. You can leave the gym confident that you spent every minute efficiently. A personal trainer will have each workout in your session pre-planned so that you can simply complete your workout and continue with your day.
